A recent family entertainment centre (FEC) study proves to be good news for commercial property owners looking for tenants who can bring in steady business to shopping centres and retail complexes. The latest statistics give an insight into how Timezone can be a vital ingredient for a landlord seeking tenants who appeal to a wide demographic, fit into the new “experience economy”, and are strong enough to drive their own customer numbers.
The report into consumer behaviour conducted by Timezone revealed that 60% of Timezone customers came to its shopping centre locations specifically to attend Timezone and that 1 in 5 of all Timezone customers were willing to travel more than 30 minutes to get to a store. This increase in traffic is a direct result of Timezone’s growing appeal and the company’s ability to reinvent the FEC and create family friendly entertainment.
Timezone says that its modern contemporary design and up market look of its new stores are all a part of it growing popularity with families with its research showing that 44% of Timezone customers came to Timezone to reward, treat and entertain their children.
“This report proves that the Timezone experience delivers customers to shopping centre entertainment districts in an environment where retail consumer behaviour is rapidly evolving,” says Kane Fong, General Manager, Timezone Australia.
The study also found that 30% of Timezone customers either brought a friend or a date with group activities such as bowling and laser tag, and multiplayer games driving the trend.
Today, Timezone has established a strong foothold in more than 190 locations throughout Asia Pacific, attributing its fast growth to new customer trends and its ability to appeal to a wide range of individuals.

The family activity outlet continues to grow in popularity and demand and will open 2 new stores in Macquarie Park (NSW) and Midland (WA) before the end of May with an undisclosed additional number of stores scheduled to open before the end of 2017.
The survey polled 1250 customers in 5 stores situated in shopping centres in Victoria, NSW, Northern Territory, Queensland and Western Australia.
